There are few criteria that needs to be met. Such a family restaurant has to have a family-friendly menu with the list of familiar meals, plenty of space and some kind of entertainment. And we are not talking about crowded, unhealthy, plain and quick bite fast food restaurants.
You will probably, like we did many times, first visit mighty Niagara Falls, stay there for a few hours enjoying breathing scenery, make gazillion pictures of the American Falls, Horsheshoe Falls, Maid of the Mist, Fallsview Casino and high raised hotels... and visit Journey Behind the Falls and Table Rock Center.
You will spend majority of the day close to the waterfalls and Table Rock and tourist info center. Your kids will probable get bored after one or two hours if not even less, and they will ask for juice, ice cream, candy, fudge... They are actually hungry and all they want is a sugar candy. It is the same with any kid, my kids, yours, they just don't have time to sit and eat.
We as parents know that quick bite doesn't solve anything, so we suggest to look around that area where you can overlook Niagara Falls and find a good spot for the afternoon meal.

There are two family restaurants that overlook Niagara Falls; one in the Table Rock Complex, and the other one across the street EdgeWater's Tap & Grill, where you can eat and enjoy amazing view of the waterfalls.

On your way to the main tourist district Maid of the Mist will be the next stop. Once you reach the end of the footpath, right across the American Falls, just turn left and you will enter a Kids Dreamland, and the major visitor area, Clifton Hill.
Tip: On your way to the Planet Hollywood, you might be attracted to enter Casino Niagara Falls, but remember; kids under 19 are not allowed.
Clifton Hill, with all man-made attractions, flashing lights, all kind of sounds, restaurants, motels, stores, entertainment and people from all over the world, will confuse you.
It is totally different from what you have experienced a few minutes ago. Kids will love it, and you... either hate or love it.
Just bring lots of coupons, and cash.
But first, eat something; there is lots of walking and souvenir shopping waiting for you. McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Pizza, Boston Pizza and other familiar names are all there. Just ignore. Read further for better selection.
