Parks in Niagara are perfect for early morning and evening strolls, and
they are a favorite place for wedding parties and wedding photos.
Unfortunately, most of the visitors won't even notice this fascinating
natural beauty, as they are busy watching and taking photos of the
falls.

Victoria park, situated in the heart
of Niagara Falls Canada, and
between Niagara River, Gorge and Niagara escarpment, is probably the
most seen and visited park. From early spring, to the middle of the
fall, Queen Victoria Park is carpeted with the thousands of colorful
blossoms, making this park one of the finest in the province Ontario.
Just upriver from the Horseshoe Falls, on the Niagara Parkway, there
are Dufferin islands. This well-known
natural beauty is a favorite spot
for photographers. This secluded features picnic spots, a labyrinth
of natural trails and several bridges, that connect total of eight
islands. It is easy to explore them, since all of Dufferin islands
are not big.
Navy Island, thanks to the strict
Niagara Commission regulations
and as it is accessible only by boat, is preserved in its natural
state.
If you are planning camping on the island, you need a special permit.
Naval Island was very important in Niagara Falls history as a
naval base and ship and canoe building site.
When driving from Niagara Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake, there is one of
Niagara Falls parks that is a popular family site, great for the picnic,
hiking and cycling. It is called Queenston Heights Park
and is located
only few minutes from Botanical Garden and Butterfly conservatory.
Botanical Garden Park features over
40 hectares of immaculately maintained
gardens, with lovely displays of flowers, shrubs and trees. When
strolling through Botanical Gardens, you can explore and enjoy the rock
garden, the herb garden, the splendid arboretum and many available
pathways.
On the other side of the border, state of NY, there is one of the
parks that
deserves to be mentioned, Niagara Falls State Park.
The park is worth
exploring, as it is the oldest park in the US, with majority of
Niagara NY attractions within the park.

Parks Commission
Niagara Commission, the agency of the Ontario Ministry of
Tourism, is responsible for Niagara Falls parks and gardens, and all
the Niagara Falls and Great Gorge attractions. Some of the attractions
are Journey Behind the Falls and the Whirlpool Aero Car and
beautiful gardens like Oakes Garden Theatre and
Botanical Garden.
The agency runs and maintains over 1,720 hectares (4,250 acres) of
parkland along the entire length of the Canadian Niagara River,
stretching 53 km (36 miles) from Fort Erie in the south to
Niagara-on-the-Lake in the north.
Thanks to the Niagara Parks Commission you will be able to
enjoy many events like free concerts and Fireworks throughout the
summer, Winter Festival of Lights, and thousands of floral displays,
like Floral Clock or Centennial Lilac Gardens.
The agency also maintains many trails, Niagara Parkway and
historic sites like Chippawa Battlefield Park, Queenston Heights, Navy
Island, Laura Secord Homestead and more.
