Niagara Falls weather is very important when planning a visit and looking for a memorable stay. Weather forecast should be checked regularly as the weather condition is changing constantly and temperatures vary from high to low extremes in a matter of days.

Niagara Falls Weather Per Season

Most people are visiting Niagara Falls in the summer time. If you didn't experience it, other seasons are also special with a lot of things to see and do.

If you compare weather in Niagara Falls to the rest of Canada, Niagara region has a pleasant climate, with milder winters and plenty of sunny days in the summer.

Being close to the either Horseshoe Falls or American Falls, you will have a feeling that it is colder than what the real temperature is. This is because of the mist, breeze and proximity of the crashing water that makes the climate cooler.

In spring and autumn, Niagara Falls weather can go from sunny and warm days to cold and wet in a matter of hours. So be ready.

Niagara Falls has four seasons and there is something unique for every single period of the year:

  • The warmest month is July
  • The highest recorded temperature was 36°C in 2005
  • February is the average coolest month
  • The lowest recorded temperature was -26°C in 1996
  • The maximum average precipitation occurs in September
