Niagara Falls Vacations

Tips for one-day and weekend vacations in Niagara Falls
Great Gorge Adventure Pass and Winter Magic Pass

Here are some ideas about Niagara Falls vacations for one night stay and common weekend packages.

There is a similar vacation pattern among the tourists when visiting one of the top tourist attractions in Canada, Niagara Falls.

This pattern includes the length of their stay. which is usually a weekend, attractions they will visit, things to do and sightseeing tours they will book.

The main reason why most of the visitors are going to see the best Ontario attraction is because of the mighty and thundering water cascades, known as Niagara waterfalls.

If you are not familiar with the abundance of hotel's offer and things to do, we are suggesting you to collect some information about this place as your Niagara Falls vacations deserve the best.

That means to find out what are the attractions worth of seeing, accommodation you won't regret to stay in, restaurants for great dining experience, unforgettable tours and whatever you think of, at your short weekend Niagara vacation.

Niagara Falls Vacations in one day

Seeing the amazing sights on one-day vacation is truly a challenge. You can choose either American or Canadian side for your exploration, but don't do both on such a short trip.

Our recommendation for your trip is Canadian side as it offers much better view and numerous attractions and tours.

Good planning, discipline and early start mean that you can see the best of Niagara in one day. To avoid long a line-up, park your car in the downtown's garage and buy a tourist pass. Here is our selection of the popular attractions in Niagara Falls that are close to each other, so you won't loose your precious holiday time:

  • Niagara Falls consisted of three waterfalls, Horseshoe Falls, American and Bridal Veil Falls are the reason why you came. 3h will be enough for you to spend there, to admire the scene and make tons of photos.
  • Journey Behind the Falls is next on the list, located in close proximity of Horseshoe Falls and below Table Rock Centre.
    Time to spend 30min - 1h.
  • Canadian Maid of the Mist dock is located right across the American Falls. Time to spend on this unforgettable wet boat ride is 1h.
  • Clifton Hill with lunch and numerous man-made attractions; like Skywheel, Ripley's, Guinness shows, mini-golf... Time to spend 3h.
  • Skylon Tower, seeing Niagara Falls city and waterfalls high above the ground. Time to spend 1h.
  • Imax Theatre is an optional attraction. Time to spend 1h.
  • Niagara Illumination in the night is a must - duration 1h.

Niagara Falls Vacations - Weekends Retreat

Next morning, after you are done with the above attractions, wake up early and head north driving along Niagara parkway or take one of the organized bus tours.

You will remember this ride throughout Niagara County while approaching the prettiest town in Canada, Niagara on the Lake. You will enjoy the beauty of the parks, marvel at the whirlpool and don't miss Spanish aero car, Botanical garden and Butterfly conservatory.

Taking leisurely hikes at the Niagara Glen Nature Reserve and spend an hour or two exploring a historic Queenston Heights Park is our recommendation for nature lovers.

And for the end of your weekend vacation, the rolling vineyards, fragrant orchards of Niagara region and the best boutique shopping experience is to be found in Niagara on the Lake town.

Niagara Vacation - How to save

If you live up to 6 hours in driving range from Niagara, as coming from Detroit, Montreal or Buffalo you will probably arrive in the early Saturday afternoon, have one night accommodation and start immediately with attractions and enjoying the full weekend vacation.

Our recommendation is to buy a weekend package like Great Gorge Adventure Pass if coming during the summer time or Winter Magic Pass if coming in winter.

Adventure Pass is the deal you are looking for as the way to save some money and time. These are vacation packages with a focus on attractions, and they be even customized to include the overnight stay.

If you are visiting Falls between the middle of April and the end of October, you could buy the Adventure Pass.

The Adventure Pass vacation package includes:

  • Maid of the Mist boat tour
  • Journey Behind the Falls
  • White Water Walk
  • Niagara's Fury

Niagara Falls vacations do not have to include expensive (overpriced) accommodation and over-crowded attractions. There are so many things to do in Niagara Falls even from the end of the fall, through the winter time and until the beginning of the spring. Our recommendation is to buy a winter vacation package called Winter Magic Pass.

With this money saving deal, you will visit Journey Behind the Falls, Butterfly Conservatory and Sky wheel in the Clifton district. Unfortunately, Maid of the Mist boat tour is closed.

Either you choose the Niagara Falls weekend packages or one day package, one is for sure; standing in front of this wonder, you will simply gaze in awe and adore the scene and thunder of the waterfalls.
