The best place for accurate and up-to-date information about traveling
to Canada, visas, and travel
tips, for international visitors is an official

You
will probably land on Toronto Pearson airport, since Niagara airport
doesn't serve overseas flights, and from there, like many visitors take
a airport shuttle, rent a car, bus or even a high
scale limousine. And if driving, don't worry about Niagara Falls
directions, there
are maps and signs everywhere, it is easy to find this wonder.
To drive in Ontario, Canada, you need car’s registration papers, valid
driver license and insurance
documents. Car rental offices like Budget, Avis, Hertz, National and
Enterprise can be found almost in any town, but the best will be
Toronto airport.
Note:
If
you are with medical problems, take the medicine with you. If you are
looking for medical attention in Canada be prepared to pay in cash, in
full, at the time the service is rendered. When you travel to
Canada medical insurance is highly
recommended. For Niagara Falls directions, maps and info are available
on many gas station and info centers that are serving highway
drivers and Niagara visitors.
Niagara
Falls
Directions to Canada - flights
If you are flying from any North American city, you have an
option to
use one of the three airports:
- Toronto (Lester Pearson International Airport -
YYZ) in Canada
- Hamilton (John Munro International Airport -
YHM) in Canada
- Buffalo (Buffalo Niagara International Airport
- BUF) in U.S.
For
international flights to Niagara Falls (overseas flights) use Toronto
“Pearson”
airport. Niagara is not that far from Toronto.
Air Canada operates direct flights to Toronto Canada, from many big and
small cities in US, including New York, Detroit, LA and major
cities around the world; London, Paris, Sidney and other.
I recommend Air Canada web site as a very
informative and helpful for any air trip. It provides all the
necessary information and services you need, for your safe and
convenient flight to Toronto, Canada.

Canada and Niagara Falls? Use our tips and suggestions for

Toronto to Niagara
Falls Directions
Sometimes it is hard to drive through Toronto even with the accurate
Niagara Falls directions. You can take an airport shuttle from Toronto
Pearson airport to Niagara
Falls Canada and
round trip will cost you around $97 CAN.
Our recommendation is, if you have a valid driver license rent a
car (approximately $30-$50 CAN), buy a guide and follow directions to
Niagara Falls or use map from Mapquest
or Google map and enjoy
the ride.
If
you are looking for a particular car, book in advance, as you will have
the biggest selection available. And you are sure that your favorite
car is waiting for you.
When driving from Toronto it will take you
approximately 2 hours, but consider also traffic jam,
especially
during the rush
hour that occurs from 7am to 9am and from 4pm to 7pm.
Follow Niagara Falls directions using Queen Elizabeth Way
(QEW), via Hamilton and
St. Catherine’s.
Another option, but more expensive is to take a taxi.
Hamilton Airport
is
also international airport, located in Canada. Check is there a flight
from your city.
If
you are coming from USA, Buffalo
Airport is a good choice as it has
flights from big cities like Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit and few more.
And it is the closest airport to
Niagara Falls.
Niagara
Falls
Directions to Canada - Driving
I like driving, and every time I go to Niagara Falls Canada I will
drive throughout the county, winery region and Escarpment.
The best rides are during the summer, especially along the Niagara
River, between Niagara-On-The-Lake and city of mighty waterfalls.
Many farmers are offering cherries, grapes and other fruits along the
road stands, so every stop there, brings great experience, and so tasty
purchase.
That
is the advantage of using your own car or rentals,
as traveling by train or bus won't provide the
opportunity to see and enjoy all the beauty.
If you are coming from
US you’ll probably enter Canada, crossing the border on
the Rainbow
Bridge ($3.25 charge).
In order to avoid traffic jams, and long
waits on a bridge, check the border wait time.
Rainbow Bridge is only 500 m from the American
Falls. Commercial traffic is not
allowed, so you can cross border walking, by bike or driving. You will
enjoy a great view from the bridge. Once you cross the bridge, there is
a lot of fun waiting for you at the Clifton
Hill entertainment complex.
3 km North is the Whirlpool Bridge, and 9 km North of the Falls is the
Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Consider these options when driving.
When
you arrive to Niagara Falls Canada, be aware, that almost every hotel
will charge you for a parking spot. Either you are booking the room
through the agent or online, parking is not included in the price. You
have to pay it separate. The price is in a range of $5-$20
CAN,
depends on a hotel. There are exemption, with cheaper motels, inns and bed
and breakfasts. But, still, ask.
Our
suggestion is, if you are on a walking distance from the place you
stayed in, to the place you want to visit, just take a walk. There is
so much to see. Scenery around waterfalls is amazing... or take a cab.
If you are coming from
Detroit/Windsor,
take 401 Highway East to 403 Highway, then turn on QEW to Niagara Falls
Canada. Continue to Hwy 420 straight to downtown of the city. It will
take you 4-4.5 hours.
Niagara
Falls Directions to Canada by train
Amtrak and Via Rail
are your choices if you are planning to visit Niagara Falls by
train. They operate between Toronto and New York, and the train
stops at
Niagara Falls but not Niagara-On-The-Lake.
The
train station is 4 km from the Falls,
on the Bridge Street. Across the border the terminal is less
than
5 km away, on Lockport road.
Niagara
Falls
Directions to Canada by bus
Bus to Niagara Falls is more affordable and faster than the train. You
can use Coach Canada and Greyhound.
The bus terminal is located in downtown Niagara Falls
Canada, at the corner of Bridge and Erie street (less than 3 km).
And across the border, in NY State the terminal is located 1 km from
the Falls,
on the 4th street.
Tip: Stay with Niagara Falls directions for more useful information.
