If you are coming from any North American city, you have an option to use one of the three airports:

  • Toronto (Lester Pearson International Airport - YYZ) in Canada
  • Hamilton (John Munro International Airport - YHM) in Canada
  • Buffalo (Buffalo Niagara International Airport - BUF) in U.S.

For international flights (overseas flights) use Toronto “Pearson” airport.

Niagara Falls Directions from Toronto:

You can take a shuttle from Toronto airport to Niagara Falls Canada and round trip will cost you $97 CAN.

Our recommendation is that if you have a valid driver license rent a car (approximately $30-$50 CAN), buy a guide, follow the Map of Niagara Falls, and enjoy the ride.

If you are looking for a particular car, book in advance, as you will have the biggest selection available. And you are sure that your favorite car is waiting for you.

It will take you approximately 2 hours drive from Toronto airport to Niagara Falls Canada.

What you have to consider, are traffic jams, especially during the rush hour, (7am-9am and 4pm-7pm).

Hamilton airport is also international and is closer to Niagara Falls Canada. Check is there a flight from your city.

If you are coming from USA, Buffalo Airport is a good choice as it has flights from big cities like Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit and few more. And it is the closest airport to Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls Directions to Canada by car

I like driving, and every time I go to Niagara Falls Canada I will drive through the Niagara county.

The best rides are during the summer, especially along the Niagara River, between Niagara-On-The-Lake and Niagara Falls.

Most of the farmers are offering cherries, grapes and other fruits along the road stands, so every stop there, bring great experience, and so tasty purchase.

If you are coming from U.S. you’ll probably enter Canada, crossing the Rainbow Bridge ($3.25 charge).

In order to avoid traffic jams, and long waits on a bridge, check the border wait time.

Rainbow bridge is only 500m from the American Falls. Commercial traffic is not allowed, so you can cross border walking, by bike or drive. You will enjoy a great view from the bridge. Once you cross the bridge, there is a lot of fun waiting for you at the Clifton Hill entertainment complex.

3km North is the Whirlpool Bridge, and 9km North of the Falls is the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.

When you arrive to Niagara Falls Canada, be aware, that almost every hotel will charge you for a parking spot. Either you are booking the room through the agent or online, parking is not included in the price. You have to pay it separate. The price is in a range of ($5-$20 CAN), depends on a hotel. There are exemption, with cheaper motels, inns and Bed and Breakfasts. But, still, ask.

Our suggestion is, if you are on a walking distance from the place you stayed in, to the place you want to visit, just take a walk. There is so much to see. Scenery around waterfalls is amazing.

If you are coming from Toronto take the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) to Niagara Falls, via Hamilton and St. Catherine’s. It will take you approx. 2 hours, depends on traffic.

If you are coming from Detroit/Windsor, take 401 Highway East to 403 Highway, then turn on QEW to Niagara Falls Canada. Continue to Hwy 420 straight to downtown of Niagara Falls. It will take you 4-4.5 hours.

On your way to Niagara Falls you can visit IKEA, which is in Burlington, where Hwy 403 meets QEW.

Niagara Falls Directions to Canada by train

The train station in Niagara Falls Canada is 4km from the Falls, on Bridge Street. In Niagara Falls New York, the terminal is less than 5km away, on Lockport Road.
