Niagara
Falls night is the most remarkable sight you'll have.

Niagara
Falls at night is a truly spectacle. Your trip to Niagara will
be incomplete unless you see the Niagara
Falls Illumination and Fireworks at night.
The whole idea to illuminate Niagara Falls during the night started
in 1860 when the Prince of Wales came to visit and
enjoy the great Niagara Falls.
An amazing light show was put in his
honor. People from Niagara put 200 Bengal lights, behind the
curtain of
water, making the night and the waterfalls an inspiration for romance.
Note: The first electric powered Niagara Falls lights were first used
in
1879.
Powerful lights that give Horseshoe Falls and American Falls a
wonderland appearance at night, brings around 40 000 visitors at the
brink of Niagara River, in the Queen Victoria Park and between
Horseshoe Falls and Clifton Hill.

The best view of the illuminated waterfalls you can have on a
Canadian side, close to the Table Rock center, from the Victoria Park
and somewhere between American and Horseshoe Falls.
Illuminated Niagara Falls with its frequently changing pattern of
rainbow
colors, is also wonderful high above the ground, from the Skylon Tower
and Minolta Tower.
The breathtaking scenery of illuminated Falls can also be a perfect
element in your romantic evening, combined with a glass of champagne
and in a comfort and luxury of your Fallsview rooms in one of the high class hotels.
What
makes
Niagara Falls at night so special?
What
gives Niagara Falls night such a special sight are
twenty-one xenon lights, 76 cm or 30 in, in diameter and with ever
changing colors.
Eighteen of them are located close to the Victoria Park, at the
Illumination Tower, and three of them below street level in Niagara
Gorge and across the American Falls.

One spotlight is as strong as 250 million candlepower.
The Niagara Falls show of illumination
starts every day between 5 pm and 6.30 pm in
winter time; between 7 pm and 8.30 pm in spring and fall and at 9 pm
in summer; and last till 10 pm in the winter time and till midnight the
rest of the year.
Another great event during the night you don't want to miss is Niagara
Falls Fireworks.
Every Friday and Sunday evening, at 10 pm,
from May till September, and during the major US and Canadian holidays
you can watch for free, Fireworks above the Falls. More about
the Fireworks
schedule here.

Tip for quality photos: In order to get a good quality picture, you
will need a decent camera
with a tripod, as you need a slow
shutter speed to get a good exposure.
When the night falls and illumination show starts, you will see a
breathtaking
performance of Niagara Falls at night; so you can sit and watch the
waterfalls for hours.
