Going to Niagara Falls

George
(from US)

When my parents decided we were going to see some out of town friends for vacation I have to admit I was less then thrilled. The trip had been non-eventful for much of its duration, that was until we all decided that were going to Niagara Falls.

We drove some hours to the Canadian border and humorously enough I realized once we crossed the Canadian border that was the first time I had ever been to another “country”.

So we make it to Niagara falls and when we go to buy tickets to ride the Maid of the Mist (a boat which rides under the fall, and we kill time by eating at a fantastic restaurant around the town and going to the Ripley’s Believe or not theater.

After that we still about a half hour till we got on the boat so we went by the fantastic tobacco shops that according to my parents had some of the best cigars they have ever had. We made our way to the Maid of the Mist, and I couldn’t help but notice the multicultural attraction of Niagara falls; I remember seeing Indian people, people of Asian tourists, and as well as plenty of Canadians it was a true melting pot.

As we made our way through the river leading to the falls, we could gently feel the mist of the fall from many yards out, it became exhilarating waiting to get under the fall. As we made our way almost directly under the fall I will never forget the picture we took.
