Cave
of the Winds Tour
The
Cave of the Winds attraction in NY is one of the most awe-inspiring
Niagara Falls Attractions available to you Check out
some amazing photos
The Cave of the Winds as the inevitable part of Niagara Falls tourism
is one of the most amazing and "must to see" attractions in Niagara
Falls NY. This natural phenomenon was discovered in 1834 when it was
only a simple
natural cave situated behind the Bridal Veil Falls and American Falls.
Back
then the Cave was inaccessible or hard to reach,
but
today you can access and explore the cave easily. This attractions
is on a short
walk from the Niagara New York city downtown and popular
Seneca
Casino and Hotel.
Visiting
Cave of the Winds
On the tour, the elevator, located on the Goat
Island, between the American Falls and Canadian Falls will
take you down, 60 m into the Niagara Gorge, to the level of Niagara
River and at the base of the American Falls.
Lovely view appears
on the horizon and across the border, on the Canadian side; high raised
luxury hotels and Skylon Tower, standing
tall and firm just above the Gorge and crashing water.

Cave
of the Winds seen from Canada
Another amazing scene appears in front of your eyes, as the
tour takes you to the
series of redwood decks and platforms and
right up to the bottom of the Bridal Veil Falls. Be careful down there,
it might be
slippery.
Since
you will be underneath the American
Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, you will see and experience
tropical
storm-like conditions where winds can reach up to over 100 km/h.
Take the advantage of the platforms on your way up. You
can stop, relax and catch your breath, enjoy the scenery and make some
amazing pictures.
American
Falls
The
path leads to the deck called Hurricane
Deck, where you will be
less than 7 m from the torrents of the crashing waterfalls. Water
will be all over you even with hooded raincoats.
After waterfalls
crash into the rock, it will hit you next. They are so powerful that
they can almost knock
you over. Amazing.

Amazing
photo of the cascading
waters beneath the
decking
Thunderous,
cascading waters will be flowing in front of you and
beneath the decking. When you buy an entrance ticket, disposable
ponchos, sandals and plastic bags for
your belongings, will be handed to you also.
Tip:
You can either bring your sandals back as a donation, or use them
for the next trip, Maid
of the Mist boat tour. Expect lots of water as well.
For
your surprise, the wood beam supports from the decking are just
wedged into the rock, no bolts or any other construction materials.
The decking is removed every fall and re-installed each spring, to
prevent being damaged by winter weather.
There is a special viewing area, 50 m away from the waterfalls that has
been set up for handicapped
people and adults with children in arms.
Cave
of the winds tour
During the
summer time and on weekends, Hurricane Deck is open till
late night (11 pm), giving you an opportunity for an awesome romantic
event.
You will experience a breathtaking adventure on the tour, when rainbow
of colors
illuminates the Falls. The Cave of the Winds attraction is one of the
most awe-inspiring Niagara Falls tours and attractions
available to the public. If you are close to Niagara Falls NY or
visiting Buffalo area, you just
don't want to
miss this attraction.
Our recommendation is to book a room in one of the premier hotels or
bed
and breakfast in Niagara Falls, Canada, since there are more
options for you and your memorable stay.
After you are done visiting interesting
attractions in Canada, casinos
and
entertainment area Clifton
Hill,
cross the US-Canada border (as long as you have valid
documents), and check out what American side has to offer.
